Benefits of the essential oils

Essential oils are often used to ease stress, boost mood, relieve pain from headaches and migraines, get a better night's sleep, quell nausea, and even repel insects. Most essential oils have antiseptic properties as well.

How to use essential oils? Essential oils can be used in three ways—applied to the skin, inhaled, or ingested. Within each of these, there are many different kinds of application methods. For example, you can apply essential oils topically using compresses, sprays, baths, or massaging them into the skin.

Orange 5 fold essential oil       

It has a sweet, citrus smell. Orange is a very nutritious fruit containing vitamins A, B and C. Is known to be an antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fungal. It may also help to reduce cellulite, stress and acne. It is calming and helps to promote a restful sleep, along with being uplifting and may improve alertness.

Spearmint essential oil     

Cool, minty aroma with hints of fruitiness. Calming & relaxing. Inspiring, clearing & awakening. The health benefits of spearmint essential oil: speeds wound heeling, relieves spasms, disinfectant, carminative, relieves stress, regulates menstruation, stimulant, restorative, insecticide & other benefits. You can use spearmint essential oil for many things from indigestion to uplifting your mood. Some of the easiest ways to use it:

  • Add a drop of spearmint oil to your baked goods, desserts or salads for a unique flavor. This also aids in digestion.
  • You can use spearmint oil in the diffuser. This will help elevate your mood and also boost concentration.
  • You can find cosmetics or medicinal products having spearmint essential oil as their primary ingredient for skin care.

There are no reported dangers of using spearmint essential oil, but as an emmenagogue, it should not be taken by pregnant women.

Lavender essential oil 

It has a sweet, floral, but a crisp herbal scent with a balsamic undertone. Many people use lavender to promote a blissful sleep and serenity. Lavender essential oil benefits are: promotes a sense of calm and relaxation, helps prevent acne breakouts, reduces skin inflammation,speeds wound healing, soothes minor burns, has antifungal prpperties, may prevent wrinkles, insect repellant,reduces hair loss, soothes eczema & dry skin conditions. 

 May chang essential oil

It has a spicy, lemony, citrus aroma with vegetative notes. Known as an 'oil of tranquility' May Chang is recognized for its ability to promote physical relaxation and mental calm. The benefits of May chang essential oil:

  • mood exhancer in aromatheraphy (try diffusing or applying a few drops on your shawl or your bed linen to promote feelings of balance throughout the day),
  • antibacterial household cleaner (it contains powerful citric elements that have an antibacterial effect),
  • anti-flamatory (it can be diluted with a carrier oil to reduce joint pain and muscle aches as studies have shown that the essential oil has anti-inflammatory properties).

This essential oil is also known to improve digestion and reduce blood pressure, there are no scientific studies as yet to prove the same.

Note: Always dilute may chang oil before using it topically as it is a potent oil. You can dilute a few drops in a carrier oil of your choice and test a small patch of skin before using it as it has a strong lemon fragrance and compounds that may potentially cause skin and eye irritation. 

 Lime essential oil 

This clear smelling citrus oil can help lift depression and lighten your mood when feeling blue. It is used to fight cellulite and to tone the skin in general. Lime oil has a sharp, citrus peel smell. Health benefits of Lime essential oil are: may treat infections, may prevent viral infections, can relieve toothaches, may increase appetite, can treat bacterial infections, potentially effective disinfectant, may reduce fever, can promote blood coagulation, may restore health, may prevent signs of aging.

 Cedarwood essential oil 

It has a woody, balsamic aroma with smoky undertones. It is said to have a calming, soothing effect on the mind and body and can help with respiratory and skin problems. Health benefits of Cedarwood esssential oil are: relieves symptoms of seborrhoea, prevents infections, reduces inflamation, relieves spasms, health tonic, promotes urination, stimulates menstruation, eliminates cough, insect repellant, reduces fungal infections.
